Southampton seemed to have a good start opening the score at the 2nd minute, but Tottenham has managed to double their shoots, from which 4 went in.
Southampton’s defender Virgil van Dijk has fired the ball by nodding in after receiving a pass from James Ward-Prowse.Dele Alli scored his first goal on the 19th minute after out-jumping Van Dijk and hitting Sissoko’s cross against Fraser Foster’s defense. The first half ended with a 1-1 score. However, on the 52nd minute, Harry Kane hurled the ball from Eriksen’s corner scoring Spur’s second goal. Shortly after Kane’s goal Nathan Redmond earned a red card by bringing down Alli, offering Spur a penalty. Kane has taken the positing hitting the ball over the bar. The score was decided after Alli’s successful second hit on the target on 87th minute before Son Heung-Min’s made the third goal for Spurs on 85th.
Tottenham remains on the 5th place in the Premier Leagure, but being only one point behind Arsenal. Redmond’s red card has risen speculations. If he tried to take the ball with a tackle, it would end up with a caution. However, he pulled Alli into a foul, which resulted in a red card and penalty on the spot. Claude Puel, Southampton’s manager has expressed that with the red card it meant the end of the game for them.
Southampton will play their next match at home against West Brom on 31st of December. Tottenham will visit Watford in the new year, on first January.
