Manchester United struggled to score but still couldn’t overcome Hull City, which ended with a draw Old Trafford on February 1st at.
Manchester United were dominating throughout the match, but they couldn’t make it in scoring not a single goal. The Tigers showed performed well, and their goalkeeper managed to keep out Paul Pogba’s and Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s attacks.
Ibrahimovic made a good attempt to score in the second half. Jakupovic read well through the opponents’ attack and could save Paul Pogba’s and Juan Mata’s balls.
Hull City also had their moments, where they almost gained more points. About five minutes before the end of the match, Ioan Lazar Markovic launched the ball towards the gates, but it was off the post.
With this draw, Hull has moved ahead out of the bottom of the table, but United are still remaining on the sixth place.
This was the second clean game for Hull from a total of 23. They conceded 47 goals in this season, which are second from the bottom after Swansea, who let 52.
United have dominated with a possession of 66%, but still, they couldn’t find a chance to score. They had a good pace with 14 successive unbeaten games, but this was already their 3rd draw since then.
Ibrahimovic couldn’t praise Hull’s goalkeeper. He expressed that there weren’t really dangerous moments for him and it was rather unlucky on their side. Marcus Rashford, who played for the first time a full 90-minute game since November, lost the possession 21 times, that has emphasized United’s sloppiness. Club’s all-time scorer, Wayne Rooney, went out at half-time, but even he couldn’t make an impact against Tigers’ skillful performance.
