Manchester City defeat Feyenoord in the Champions LeaguePosted: October 1, 2017
The first Manchester City’s Champions League match in the Group F against the Dutch team, Feyenoord, ended with British’s 0-4 win on 13th of September.
The opener came just two minutes after the kick-off from John Stones’ shot, which became City’s fastest ever goal in the Champions League. It signalled a perfect start for the team in this competition, and they managed to achieve a brilliant result throughout their perseverance and creativity towards the end of this game.
As Feyenoord tried to secure their side, Sergio Aguero rammed through their defence, doubling the score from Kyle Walker’s cross.
By the 25th minute, it stood 0-3, as Gabriel Jesus scored a brilliant third on his Champions League debut.
There was more involvement from the visitors’ in the second half, but it was already too late for them to hope for the best, as Stones fired the fourth goal in the 63rd minute sealing the score.
The Dutch side showed some improvement in the second half, but their defence was still too weak, which allowed City to exploit its boundaries. However, after suffering a 0-2 outcome in the first two minutes, it became very likely that the team was left discouraged for the remaining minutes. As it became their heaviest defeat on their soil in this competition, City has just neutralized any negative thoughts about their further performance in the upcoming games.
In their Group F, Shakhtar Donetsk has previously defeated Napoli by a 2-1 score, which makes the Ukrainian side some potentially dangerous contenders to watch for.
